Here is a summary so far:
Day 1 - This Sucks
Day 2 - This Sucks
Day 3 - This Sucks, but maybe I'm getting better
Day 4 - Burning Pain (this is a milestone, 90 second jog intervals vs. 60 seconds)

I hate running. I'm kind of hoping that I can ease into it by doing all the biking and exercising in the the gym. I'm working on my endurance, which has always been really weak.

C25k is awesome. It definitely gets easier.

Here's another good one:

It really does get easier with time. I did a similar program to that via the fitness center at work, which had a very nice ramp rate that didn't really hurt until you got to the "run 5 minutes" week.

The one thing I found interesting (and still do) is that when I got to the sections of "run X distance - walk - run X+Y distance - walk - run X distance" (like week 4) I was better off doing the longest one first. Otherwise, I'd run out of steam before I finished that longest distance.

stick to it, Jaye! I used to hate running with a passion, now I'm about to do my 3rd 5k and a 10k in the next month. And I actually look forward to my runs.
You'll be amazed at how much easier it gets within just a couple of weeks.

It's slow going. When I was running I didn't even notice the improvements until one day I stopped and said "Holy crap I just ran 5k in 22 minutes". I always found running unpleasant, but in the later months I got past wanting to throw up afterwards.

My preferred strategy was just to set a distance target and always run that far, even if it was just a slow jog. If it took me 45 minutes or an hour, so be it, so long as I wasn't walking. I only did it once or twice a week, but that was enough to get the job done.

Good shoes are really important.
